ABOUT US
Formed in 2008 Gifts that Give, Inc. (GtG) is a for-profit company that works with the non-profit community to help drive revenue on behalf of customer causes, while also generating revenue for GtG. GtG strongly believes that the best way to generate new revenue for the non-profit community (charities and other causes) is by creating a for-profit enterprise that can attract investment and can recruit and retain top executive management talent. Using this model, GtG expects to be both a profitable enterprise and a facilitator of significant revenue streams for our non-profit beneficiaries.
GtG was co-founded by Nancy Taylor, a former Neiman Marcus and May Department Store executive and also a former board member of Susan G. Komen and other major non-profits.
GtG was begun for the purpose of creating a company that could stand alone as a viable business entity and at the same time drive significant revenue to worthy non-profit beneficiaries. Ms. Taylor formed a core group of sr. executives from retail, e-commerce, technology and financial backgrounds to explore and realize this vision.
In order to maintain an impeccable position in the non-profit sector, GtG disburses donated funds to non-profit causes through Network for Good. Network for Good (http://www.networkforgood.org/) is a legal non-profit Donor Advised Fund that was formed in the wake of 9/11 to administer the flood of donations to related causes and persists to this day as the most recognized donation processor in the United States. Network for Good is a registered 501c3 non-profit corporation and meets all of the term, conditions and guidelines for a Donor Advised Fund under the United States Code of Federal Regulations.

Gifts that Give, Inc. is unique. In a nutshell, we run a business that relies on our customers to tell their friends about us, and in exchange we donate the savings in advertising cost to the cause of the customer’s choice. We make “passing the word” easy by providing tools on our web site to let you tell your friends about us.
Are you reputable?
Absolutely! We have been in business since 2008. We recently expanded our business through investment by a top venture capital firm. Our president and CEO is a former sr. executive from Neiman Marcus who has served on the boards of top non-profits including Susan G. Komen and the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. We have been featured in top publications including: Better Homes and Gardens®, Real Simple® and People StyleWatch® magazines.
Do I have to “pass the word” before I can support the “cause I love”?
No! We donate to the non-profit cause of your choice regardless of whether you chose to “pass the word” or not. We hope you do because in “passing the word” you generate more revenue for your cause. If you pass this onto your friends and they do as well, and so on, you can generate a large amount of revenue for the cause that means so much to you all while gaining access to great product at a great value.
How much does the “cause I love” get?
It varies, but 20% of product purchases and 90% of auction proceeds. In every case, the amount of the donation will be clearly listed with the product description on the web site and again during the checkout process and finally, listed clearly on the purchase confirmation email you will receive after checkout. Gifts that give, Inc. never keeps any of the donation amounts for us.
How soon does the “cause I love” get my donation?
Typically within 15 - 30 days. For donation amounts of $10 or more, we charge your credit card separately for the donation amount upon shipment of the merchandise you have ordered. The donation amount is processed by Network for Good (www.networkforgood.org). Network for Good sends payments to nonprofits on the 15th of each month that include all donations made in the previous month. For example, donations processed in February will be paid on March 15th. You will get a record of charge on your credit card statement for the donation amount immediately after your purchase ships (or after the last item in your purchase ships, in the case where we ship from multiple locations).
In the case where the donation amount is less than $10, we hold the donation amount and accumulate the donations until the end of the following fiscal quarter, and then send the accumulated donation to charity chosen. A donation under $10 is not tax-deductible..
Because Gifts that give, Inc. is a for-profit business, we needed to provide a way of disbursing the donation amount of your purchase to the non-profit cause of your choice in a way that conforms to United State Government Federal Regulations. This enables the amount of your donation to be tax deductible. So, we have partnered with Network for Good (www.networkforgood.org) to process the donation part of your product purchase or auction amount. Network for Good is a nonprofit that makes it easy for businesses to support any cause, anywhere online. Through partnership with corporations, Network for Good enables charitable giving solutions on company websites like this one. Network for Good is a Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance accredited charity that has processed over $485 million in donations for more than 50,000 nonprofits since its 2001 founding by AOL, Cisco and Yahoo!. We invite you to visit their web site for more information: www.networkforgood.org
Is Network for Good part of your company?
No. Network for Good is an independent company and is not owned in whole or in part by Gifts that Give, Inc. We use Network for Good as our means to get your donation to the non-profit you chose when you purchased from us (or if you won an auction). We do not receive a commission or in any way profit from our relationship with Network for Good.
How do I know that my donation is secure?
Network for Good uses industry-leading Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to keep your personal information as secure as possible. Network for Good helps to protect your information by working with partners that provide a secure and safe environment for credit card donations.
Furthermore, Network for Good, who processes the US credit card donations, is a Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance accredited charity that meets all of the BBB standards for charity accountability (BBB). They have processed more than $400 million in donations for 50,000 charities through their giving system.
How does Network for Good protect my privacy?
Network for Good respects and protects your privacy. Network for Good will never sell, trade or rent your personal information to other individuals or companies. The information that you provide is used only to complete your donation. With your permission, your name and contact information will be provided to the charity you supported through Network for Good. If you do not wish share your name and contact information with the charity you supported through Network for Good or you choose to make your donation anonymously, Network for Good will not share your name or contact information.
Network for Good's website uses industry standard security measures to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under its control. All information is stored in a secure database. You can read their privacy policy here: http://www1.networkforgood.org/privacy
Does the “cause I love” get my full donation amount?
Gifts that Give, Inc. does not charge a processing fee for the donation part of your purchase. Network for Good re-grants the donation funds to your designated charity(ies), but there are costs associated with processing and distributing online donations to your favorite charity(ies). A 4.75% grant is made to Network for Good with each donation transaction to fund its mission and help support the expense of maintaining the technology to process and distribute your donations.
Is my donation amount tax deductible?
Donation amounts of $10 or more are processed by Network for Good in conformance with current United States Internal Revenue Service regulations regarding the tax deductibility of a donation to a registered non-profit (501c3). Network for Good provides an electronic receipt at the time of the donation. Both the receipt you see onscreen at the completion of the donation process and the e-mail you receive shortly thereafter meet all IRS requirements as a record of donation. If you are asked to provide a paper receipt for IRS purposes, please print out a copy of your email receipt or send a request for a duplicate receipt todonations@networkforgood.org.
Donation mounts of less than $10 cannot be processed by us in conformance with current United States Internal Revenue Service regulations regarding the tax deductibility of a donation to a registered non-profit (501c3) and are consequently not tax-deductible. You will not receive a separate receipt for donation amounts less than $10.
Will I get documentation of my donation?
If your donation amount qualifies to be tax deductible, Network for Good will send you an electronic receipt at the time of your donation via email. In addition, Network for Good maintains a customer service operation that is prepared to answer question and resolve issues regarding your donation amount.
Is my donation amount refundable?
Gifts that Give delays the charging of your credit card for the donation amount until the last item of your order has shipped. We then remit the donation amount from your order to Network for Good, or to our internal disbursement account if the donation amount is less than $10. Once the donation amount is remitted to Network for Good or in our internal disbursement account it is not refundable. The underlying reason for this is that once a donation is remitted to a non-profit, it cannot be retrieved because many (most) non-profits do not have a method of refunding donations that have already been received.
What happens if I return all or part of my order?
Gifts that Give stands by our product offerings and will accept returns of regular sale product that is defective, or product that does not meet your expectation or needs. Auction product cannot be returned except by special arrangement with Gifts that Give customer service. If you return items to Gifts that Give, we will credit your account with the full merchandise sale value of the product you have returned except in the case where special circumstances or a re-stocking fee has been previously disclosed to you on the web site prior to purchase. You may redeem your merchandise credit for the purchase of merchandise at any time. You may alternatively elect to have the merchandise purchase price of your returned items credited to your credit card. The merchandise purchase price is the sale price of the merchandise you purchased minus the donation amount (the amount we sent to the cause of your choice). Donation amounts are not refundable.
What happens if the “cause I love” ceases operation?
In the rare case where the non-profit cause you chose ceases operation or refuses your donation, Gifts that Give will re-allocate your donation to another non-profit of the GtG non-profit administrator’s choice. We always verify the validity of the non-profit cause you have selected at the time of purchase, but there is still some remote chance that the status of the non-profit can change between the time you selected the beneficiary and the time we attempt to remit the funds to the non-profit. In all cases, your donation will be remitted to a valid registered non-profit (501c3). We endeavor to select non-controversial non-profits to receive these re-allocated donations and will not select non-profits to receive these re-allocated funds that are aligned with religious, political or have a controversial point of view, to the best of our ability.
How will my non-profit organization receive funds from donations made through this site?
